BEACH SAFETY
Water Safety and Beach Flags – There are no lifeguards, so please use caution on the beach. The relatively calm appearance of the water’s surface is no indication of the undertows or water currents beneath the surface. Before you get in the water, check the beach flag color and adhere to the Beach Flag Warning system. This system will give you vital water condition information that is important for your safety.
Sunburns – Sun at the beach is very intense. To prevent sunburn, always wear a hat and plenty of sunscreen from the tips of your ears to the tops of your toes. The sun is hottest from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.. Soothe burns with white vinegar or aloe.
Jellyfish Stings – Use vinegars, lots of it and fast. It’s the best remedy. Meat tenderizer and Coca-Cola are also good remedies.
